MDB Texinov® produces 3D knitted technical textiles on double-needlebed looms capable of knitting great widths.
3D textiles can be knitted with:
- multiple materials: glass, polyester, polyamide, silicone-coated yarn, steel (including stainless);
- varied structures: honeycomb cell, closed cell;
- combinations of different materials and structures on each face.
Using 3D textiles has many advantages: heat and/or sound insulation, compressive strength, damping effect, breathability, thickness, lightness.
3D textiles are also an appropriate high-performance technological solution for a range of applications: composite materials, medical devices, pipe reinforcement, crash helmets, acoustic tiles, reinforcement and prefabricated elements for building, structural linings (replacing foams), spacer fabric for clothing and footwear, etc.
MDB Texinov® has developed 3D-textile structures for which several patents have been filed. Our patented 3D textile using silicone-coated yarn was awarded the Innovation trophy in the ‘New Materials’ category at the 2013 Techtextil international trade fair.
